Colin Bönighausen startet für Ralf Schumacher

Bönighausen starts for Ralf Schumacher

The race team was founded in early 2008 by seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher, to give young talented drivers the opportunity to actively participate in karting.

In 2014, former Formula 1 and DTM driver Ralf Schumacher took over as team boss at KSM, combining his new ideas and meticulous approach to establish a top international team. Meanwhile, the list of victories and achievements is now long: the team is the reigning Shifter Kart European Champion, in addition to double successes in the ADAC Masters, ADAC Kart Academy and the ROK Cup Germany. At the 2017 season finale, they celebrated a much acclaimed victory at the prestigious WSK Final Cup in Italy.

Ralf Schumacher is well-known in the Motorsport scene for his keen sense for talented and ambitious drivers, so Boenighausen is happy about the chance to be on track with this highly respected team, “It is a great honour for me to join the team at KSM. I will take this opportunity now, knowing that I have the perfect team manager with Ralf Schumacher. His incredible experience and his expertise will definitely help me in my development. I cannot wait for it to start.” Team coordinator Wilfried Muechen is also looking forward to the partnership, “Our role is to discover young talents and promote them with the best possible care. The testing [we have done] with Colin has shown that he has great qualities to become a successful driver.”

Colin Jamie Boenighausen will participate in the International German Kart Championship for the KSM Schumacher Racing Team in 2018 in OK Junior, the Champions League of karting. Here, he will meet drivers from more than 20 different nations as part of the event that plays host to some of the world’s best drivers. Up to 100,000 viewers follow Europe’s most successful series during the livestream coverage and race highlights TV report after each round.

In addition, the young German driver will compete at the renowned ADAC Kart Masters in the ADAC Kart Academy. For the start of the challenging season, the winter preparation includes participating in the Italian WSK Series.
