Racing driver Colin Bönighausen: Twice in the points at Spa

The Proton Huber Competition driver was not satisfied despite two more point scorings in races 3 and 4 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland championship 2025.

As in the season opener, the German Porsche Carrera Cup was part of the FIA World Endurance Championship weekend in Imola. The packed grandstands around the iconic circuit in the Ardennes saw a powerful Colin Bönighausen, who did not let a wrong setup choice on his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup put him off track. “We had initially made the wrong decisions on the car settings. However, the good part is that the engineers and I reacted in the right manner and found a good pace again, at least for the races,” said the 20-year-old.

From grid positions 14 and 20, Colin still managed to finish 13th and 15th in the high-competitive field of 31 participants. The driver from Isernhagen thus scored two more important points in the championship in Belgium: “We still got the best out of it.” Now it’s time to build on the experience from Spa: “A lot of things are new for me in the team and of course the processes have to familiarise themselves first. But I still had a lot of fun in the duels and Eau Rouge with these cars provides impressions that you don’t forget so quickly. It’s like being on a rollercoaster, where you’re shot off on a very steep ramp.” The next opportunity for unforgettable memories will be in a month’s time on the steep bends of Zandvoort.
